The Alfreton Male Voice Choir and the Gresley Male Voice Choir will join together again for a combined concert of over 75 voices on Saturday, March 15.
The concert will be given in the presence of HM Lord Lieutenant of Derbyshire, William Tucker and his wife, Jill Tucker together with the Mayor and Consort of Amber Valley, Councillor Angela Ward and David Ward. Also attending will be Amber Valley MP Nigel Mills.
The choirs will be joined by a young soprano from Nottingham, Lily Taylor – Ward with whom AMVC joined for a charity concert in June 2012.
Lily is in musical theatre and, in addition to appearances in London and Birmingham has sung for 21,000 fans at Nottingham Forest.
The two choirs last performed together in Burton-on-Trent in March 2012. Both choirs have been established since the early 1900s and have, at various times, been festival prize-winners, as well as raising substantial sums for charity work which, this year, have included the British Heart Foundation and the County Air Ambulance.
The return concert will begin at 7.30 p.m. and will be held at the Alfreton Grange Arts College, Grange Street, Alfreton.
The choirs are looking forward to being together again for a wide range of music with many new items added to an already extensive repertoire.
Tickets are £7. More information can be obtained at www.alfretonmvc.co.uk or by calling 01773 608112 or 823602.
Alfreton MVC rehearsals are held at 6.45pm every Thursday in the Palmer–Moorewood Memorial club, opposite Tesco in Alfreton.
