Choir’s African sound

The Johannesburg based Roedean Choir will deliver their repertoire of traditional and contemporary songs on April 28, in Derby Cathedral at 8pm.

As part of their 2011 UK tour, the all-girl school choir will be performing in some of the most prestigious venues across the UK, including York Minster and Bath Abbey.

The 39 choir members will perform a mixed repertoire covering songs from a range of nations and eras. After a splash of French romance and American spirit, the group will bring a range of traditional and modern African song and dance.

The Roedean Choir is no stranger to touring having recently returned from America where they performed to a standing ovation at St Paul’s Chapel and Trinity Church in New York.

The concert starts at 8pm.
