manchester-BASED orchestra The Halle make their latest eagerly-awaited appearance at Nottingham’s Royal Concert Hall on Friday, February 18, at 7.30pm.
The programme, to be conducted by Sir Mark Elder, will kick off with the highly evocative and atmospheric Four Sea Interludes from Benjamin Britten’s Peter Grimes, followed by Bruch’s Scottish Fantasy featuring the solo violinist Valeriy Sokolov.
The second half is to be given over to Tchaikovsky’s multi-faceted Sixth Symphony, the Pathetique, premiered only days before his untimely and unexpected death in 1893.
Tickets to see The Halle in this Nottingham Classics concert are £10-£32. Call the box office at the Royal Centre on 0115 9895555.
