Classical treats with J26

CHAMBER orchestra J26 will be in concert at All Saints Church in Ripley on Sunday, July 15, as part of the Ripley Music Festival.

Conducted by John Watson and led by Pete Johnston, the ensemble will be performing a programme of works by Mendelssohn and Mozart.

They will be playing Mendelssohn’s Overture to A Midsummer Night’s Dream and his First Symphony, plus Mozart’s A Musical Joke and his Sinfonia Concertante for four wind soloists and orchestra.

The soloists will be Liza Kouyoumjian-Stanton (oboe), Karen How (clarinet), Deena Draycott (bassoon) and Jennie McGeoch (horn).

The venue is based on Church Street in Ripley and the concert starts at 7.30pm. Admission is £6 for adults and £4 for concessions.
