Tideswell Male Voice Choir is issuing a personal invitation to gents to come along and have a go at singing.

So if you’re looking to try something new, this could be the opportunity for you.

During recent years, thousands of people, many of them from the male species, have found their voices and started singing. Thanks to the all male group Only Men Aloud and Gareth Malone with his TV series, Sing While You Work, men, boys, firemen and women, personnel from Citi Bank, employees of P&O Ferries, Sainsbury’s and Manchester Airport have all been introduced to making music.

In the last four years, more than 40 men, living in the Peak District, Derbyshire, Staffordshire, Greater Manchester, Yorkshire and Cheshire have chosen to become a part of one of the fastest growing, forward thinking, progressive, male choruses in the country.

During 2013, Tideswell Male Voice Choir performed to audiences totalling more than 7,000.

2014 will see the choir producing a new CD, touring South Wales, performing in venues up and down the country including Buxton Opera House and the beautiful open theatre in the stunning Gawsworth Hall.

The choir welcomes new members throughout the year but specifically now as it commences rehearsals for the coming performance season.

Come along to the rehearsal premises at The Old Grammar School, situated in the grounds of the ‘Cathedral of the Peaks’, on Tuesday or Wednesday January 14-15 at 7pm. The choir’s members age from 18 years upwards and everyone is welcome.

You don’t have to read music or undergo any audition, just come along, bring your voice and become a part of Tideswell Male Voice Choir. For further information or to speak with one of the section managers, email

Finally, for the ladies, there is an invitation coming your way to join together in two, maybe three big productions, so keep visiting
