A Community Concert featuring the East Midlands Fellowship Salvation Army Band and the Rolls-Royce Ladies Choir, to be held at Somercotes Village Hall, on Saturday, March 1, starting at 7.30pm.
The Somercotes Salvation Army Corps has arranged the concert, which showcases an experienced Salvation Army band drawn from various Salvation Army Corps from across the East Midlands and beyond, led by bandmaster David Garrett. Musicians from Sheffield, Gainsborough and Doncaster will combine with local corps in an eagerly-awaited concert.
This is the first time such a major joint Salvation Army Band has appeared in Somercotes in this way and the concert has been arranged in the village hall as a central point for the community and all churches to get together and to ensure a venue of sufficient size for the event.
The Rolls-Royce Ladies Choir iswell known to music and song lovers and is a major attraction i and much in demand for concerts, offering an interesting and vibrant contrast on a musical evening which has something for everyone.
