DCO to present all-Russian night

FRESH from their recent and successful family Christmas concert at Derby Cathedral, members of Derby Concert Orchestra will be presenting an all-Russian programme of music for their next outing.

The venue will again be Derby Cathedral, on Saturday, March 17, when the orchestra, conducted by Jonathan Trout will be performing Borodin’s lively overture to his opera Prince Igor, Glazunov’s lyrical Saxophone Concerto and Rachmaninov’s stormy First Symphony, a large-scale work that has recovered from a disastrous premiere to receive increasing levels of acclaim over the past 50 years.

Rob Buckland will be the soloist in the concerto.

Tickets are £12 (£10 concessions, under 16s get in free with an adult), available from Foulds Music of Derby, orchestra members or on the door.
