TOP folk artistes John Tams and Barry Coope will be joined by a host of friends for a concert at Derby Theatre on Sunday, June 19, at 5pm.

One of British music’s most popular duos, this BBC award winning pair will be joined by Graeme Taylor on guitar, Andy Cutting on melodeon, the 40-strong Sheffield Folk Chorale, and a new up and coming young star of the folk scene, Lucy Ward, plus the whirling swords of Stone Monkey Rapper.

John Tams is probably best known for his part as Daniel Hagman in the TV series, Sharpe, and is currently part of the creative team on the West End and Broadway productions of WarHorse, for which he has written and arranged the music. Barry Coope, the Derbyshire born and bred singer and musician, is also one-third of leading a cappella trio, Cooper, Boyes and Simpson, and was a founder member of Ramsbottom and Rogues Gallery, two successful Derbyshire bands who were very popular locally and also on the national folk scene.

Tickets are £16, concessions £15, under 16s are £8, and all are available from the box office on 01332 255800.
