NOTTINGHAM Symphony Orchestra’s next concert is an all-French affair, to take place at the city’s Albert Hall on Saturday, May 26.
The programme, to be conducted by Derek Williams, also features the combined forces of Sinfonia Chorale, Derby Bach Choir and The Derwent Singers.
The main work is to be Ravel’s impressionist masterpiece Daphnis and Chloe, a fascinating work of many moods.
Also to be performed are Ravel’s ever-popular Bolero and his violin showpiece Tzigane, featuring rising star Kristine Balanas as soloist.
The other pieces to be performed are Berlioz’s Roman Carnival Overture and Royal Hunt And Storm from his opera The Trojans, plus Faure’s Pavane.
