BACK by popular demand at The Flowerpot in Derby on Friday, April 1, will be U2 tribute act Achtung Baby.
Over the years, the band has played some blistering gigs at the King Street venue and Achtung Baby have a few surprises in their set as they celebrate 20 years since the release of U2’s massive selling Achtung Baby album.
So if you’re a fan of the music of Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jnr, this is the gig for you.
Then, on Saturday, April 2, The Flowerpot welcomes back an old friend, Stan Webb, with his rocking band Chicken Shack.
Stan is a blues legend. You name them, he’s played with them and he has impressed wherever he’s been around the world thanks to his top-class musicianship and unforgettable stagecraft. His band Chicken Shack will be sure to cook up a storm when they return to The Flowerpot.
Last but by no means least, there’s the welcome return to The Flowerpot of Wishbone Ash, the British rock band who achieved mega success in the early and mid-1970s.
Wishbone Ash are considered to be one of the major innovators of the harmony twin lead guitar format and this helped them continue with a strong critical and commercial success until 1980.
After a number of line-up changes, they are still going strong as a live and recording act of some considerable renown.
Doors open for all three gigs at 8pm. Admission is £8 (£7 concessions) for Achtung Baby, £10 for Stan Webb’s Chicken Shack and £15 for Wishbone Ash.
