Buxton Opera House is welcoming back The British Philharmonic Orchestra for its annual New Year’s Eve Gala Concert, on Tuesday, December 31 at 9.30pm.
A massive hit in its first two years, 2011 and 2012, the gala returns to ring in the New Year of 2014 in style.
In aid of future capital and artistic work at the Opera House and Pavilion Arts Centre, the 44-piece British Philharmonic Concert Orchestra will deliver a fantastic evening, full of vocal and orchestral favourites.
Compere Mark Langley is set to take control of the proceedings for the third time, along with a quartet of top-class British opera singers, promising all the favourites from opera, ballet, film, TV and musicals.
It will be rounded off at midnight with Auld Lang Syne, a touch of Vienna and a New Year singalong for the whole audience.
For those wishing to make a full evening of the event, enjoy wonderful food and great company at the three-course pre-concert dinner at the magnificent Octagon in the Pavilion Gardens complex, behind the Opera House.
All-in-all, it’s the perfect way to end the old year and ring in the new.
