ALFRETON Leisure Centre is the venue on Sunday, July 10, for a special one-off event celebrating the Northern Soul get-togethers that used to be staged.
In the mid 1980s and late 1990s, Alfreton Leisure Centre was the home to one of the biggest regular Northern Soul events in the country.
Thousands travelled to the town for the monthly events, which were so successful that they started a re-emergence of the genre. Today, there are dozens of events in the area every month.
Over 600 people are expected to visit the July 10 from around the UK and some from overseas.
Organised by Glyn Williams, one of the original promoters, the event features a huge list of DJs famous in the soul scene, including some from the famous Wigan Casino and Stoke All-Nighters.
The evening session of the event will be simulcast to a global audience via the internet and also live on 107.2 Amber Sound FM.
The All-Dayer starts at 2pm and goes through to 11pm. Tickets cost £10 each, available from www.alfretonalldayer.com and Amber Sound FM studios in Ripley. Admission on the door will be £12.50.
