NPO to play at Minster

Nottingham Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Mark Heron, makes its annual visit to Southwell Minster on Saturday, July 12, at 7.30pm.

The romantic programme includes the emotional Tannhauser Overture by Wagner, Brahms’s Tragic Overture, the beautiful Enigma Variations by Elgar, and Dvorak’s Cello Concerto with its wealth of melodies, performed here with soloist Philip Higham, one of the most prominent young cellists in the UK.

Come and join the orchestra for a perfect summer’s evening. All seating is unreserved and refreshments will be available.

Tickets are £11-£15 (concessions available) and are available from the Cathedral Shop on 01636 812933, the Royal Concert Hall, Nottingham, on 0115 989 5555, or on the door.

The orchestra is pleased this year to support the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance, a dedicated Helicopter Emergency Medical Service since 1994.

Its permanently staffed helicopter can reach any location in the two counties within 20 minutes, and is vital for saving lives.

Every year, approximately 1,000 missions are flown, with the generous support of the people of Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire.
