Mike Greaves will be performing a set at The Queen’s Head in Belper on Saturday, November 30.
Mike is a highly-acclaimed, unsigned country and blues artist from Hull, whose voice has been variously described recently by critics as, ‘wonderful - the voice of an oak tree’ and as having ‘gravel-studded depth’ on the track Pride, which features on the 2012 album, Paul Heaton Presents...the 8th.
Mike is also a respected songwriter, whose credits include several songs recorded by The Beautiful South, including... Frank and Delores, The Prettiest Eyes, Nearer to God and Diamonds Always Shine.
You can expect some ‘literate and challenging songwriting with Americana musical roots but lyrics that are firmly planted in our native soil’.
The gig at the Chesterfield Road-based venue in the town gets under way from 8pm and admission is £6.
