One of the most popular music events in the area returns from July 24-26 when the Rock and Blues Old School Weekender is staged.

The event’s 30th show is again to be staged at the Coney Grey Showground, based on Chesterfield Road, Pentrich.

Over the course of three days, this year’s Rock and Blues Old School Weekender will play host to a huge array of musical talent. It features three stages of live music, tribute bands and unsigned bands playing an array of genres from rock, metal, punk, ska, rockabilly and more, plus a custom show, displaying all types of motorbikes, hot rod and classic cars, trikes and scooters.

The Thursday night’s opening gig features music from the likes of Nuclear Minogue, Clearout and Needle Poppers.

There will be a huge array of musical entertainment on Friday, July 25. Performing across the three stages will be the likes of State Of Quo, Acoustic TV (featuring Terrorvision frontman Tony Wright), Meansteed, First Offence, The Franseens, Abomination Federation, Aonia, Exile 84, Heartbreak Remedy, Steel Threads, Madhouse, East Town Pirates, Jester, The Reverends and Prisoners Of War (pictured above left), to name just a few.

Then, on Saturday, July 26, there’s another packed line-up of musical entertainment, thanks to sets by the likes of Eddie and The Hot Rods, Parasight, Eva Plays Dead, Castro, BB Blackdog (pictured above right), Pig Iron, New Generation Terrorists, Theia, Wolf’ Skin, Addictive Philosophy, The Manc Lads, Gripper and The Gurnards, Lauren Faith, The Third Round and more.

In addition, there will again be an extensive Custom Show. Trophies/awards and prizes are to be presented by former world champion Superbike rider James Toseland.
