See bands galore at town’s Loft-Fest

The Loft, based on Crown Square in Matlock, is the setting for Loft-Fest, a music event behind held on Saturday, October 26.

Loft-Fest promises to be a jam-packed evening of live bands.

You can expect some rocking performances from:

n Garry McCabe - a talented Wirksworth-based solo artist, who is also a member of The Piracy

n Archaic - a metal band from Matlock, who have gigged accross the region. If you know your Black Sabbath from your Rage Against The Machine you’ll love Archaic

n Carpe Diem - a Matlock-based post punk/alt rock band, influenced by the likes of AC/DC, Buzzcocks, Pistols, Doors, Led Zeppelin and many more.

n King Komodo - an awesome five-piece up and coming local rock band, from Nottingham

n The Roads - a five-piece indie rock n roll band from Derby. They have played at every venue in Derby and The Cavern in Liverpool, plus Leeds, London, played Osfest, Sheffield, Nottingham and they have even supported The Kooks.

They have been together since 2005 and their track Hear No Evil featured as track one on an issue of Play Magazine.

n Damn Clickers - this Alfreton-based band are right up the street for fans of Biffy Clyro

n Love For Fire - based in Matlock, Love For Fire sing their own original songs, which are influenced from each band member’s music genre, punk rock

n Roger The Mascot - a four-piece energetic band from Nottinghamshire, creating their own brand of authentic and catchy indie funk/ska music.

They are full of fun and fresh energy, along with a somewhat comedic quirkiness on stage. Their music truly does speak for itself.

They have enjoyed a productive first year, playing around 50 shows including the final of the UK Battle Of The Bands, a headline slot at Y-Not Festival and the Grand Final of The OpenMicUk nationwide talent competition at London’s O2 Arena.

Doors open for the Deafbox Promotions event at The Loft at 5pm on Saturday and entry is £5. Tickets are available on the door.
