Virgil And The Accelerators will be performing at The Flowerpot in Derby on Saturday, May 31.

The blues power trio is led by guitar prodigy Virgil McMahon, his brother Gabriel on drums and bassist Jack Alexander Timmis, who are on tour to promote their brand new album due for release in September 2014.

Virgil and the Accelerators redefine blues for the modern generation with their powerful brand of guitar driven original material.

The band, who have played to crowds of thousands all over Europe, have two albums already out.

Their debut album The Radium gained massive critical acclaim and The CD/DVD Live at Marshall, which was recorded at Marshall Amps HQ in front of a sell out live audience, repeated this with reviewers scrambling for copies.

Virgil McMahon (guitars and vocals) was offically recognised as one of modern guitar playing’s luminaries when he was awarded Best Guitarist in the European Blues Awards in 2013.

The band, who have shared the stage with luminaries including Michael Schenker, Uriah Heep, Johnny Winter and Wilko Johnson, are set to release their eagerly awaited third album called Army Of Three in September.

Expect to hear these new tracks alongside old favourites at the Flowerpot gig.

On Friday, May 30, the King Street venue plays host The Smyths, with their tribute to The Smiths, in a gig that is now sold out.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday, June 4, there will be latest in the free Acoustic Wednesdays performances in the bar.

The latest visitor will be Sunjay Brayne, with a performance of acoustic roots and blues.

Doors open at 8pm for all three gigs.

Admission to see Virgil And The Accelerators is £10.
