BAKEWELL Choral Society members will perform their spring concert on Saturday, April 2.
They will be performing Haydn’s Nelson Mass and Vivaldi’s Gloria. A group of students from Lady Manners School will perform Britten’s Missa Brevis.
The choir, conducted by Richard Barnes, will be accompanied on the organ by Director of Music at St Mary Redcliffe Church, Andrew Kirk, and by the Heart of England Orchestra.
A group of four soloists currently studying at the Royal Northern College of Music will also join the performance. They are Eleanor Garside (soprano), Sophie Goldrick (mezzo soprano), Joshua Friend (tenor) and Colin Brockie (bass baritone) who sang at the Proms as part of the National Youth Choir of Scotland.
The concert at Bakewell Parish Church starts at 7.30 p.m. Tickets cost £10 (students and children free) and are on sale at Bakewell Bookshop, from choir members and on the door.
