DERBYSHIRE favourites BB Blackdog are hosting a SteamPunk Summer Solstice event at The Rock Face at The Lime Kiln, Wirksworth, on Saturday, June 16.

SteamPunk is a growing global movement of people who are into, among other things, Victorian dress, vintage ‘steamabilia’, tattoos, expressive dance, music, beer and tea.

BB Blackdog will headline a full programme of live music with ten acts including 3:Second:Fuse, Whiskey Bob Shaker, Gladstone and more playing from 2pm.

There will be over 20 stalls trading in related paraphenalia such as Tattoed Cake Company, Rag Tat and Bones, Raspberry Bazaar etc., plus dance displays and workshops through out the day, Cirque Show, traditional pub games, fun fair rides, hot food, cold beers and more.

Dale Rowles, organiser and founder member of BB Blackdog, said: “This is a really important first time event at this venue for the SteamPunk movement, which we’ve put a lot of thought into, and if it is successful we can make it an annual event, which we believe will be great for the area.”

It all starts at 12noon. Tickets are £5 (including programme) and are available from The Lime Kiln, Top Kens, Wirksworth and at Arkwrights Stores, Cromford. Entry on the door is £6, under 12s get in free when accompanied by adults.
