Nottingham Symphony Orchestra returns to concert action with a performance at the city’s Albert Hall on Saturday, March 15.
The concert, to be conducted by Derek Williams, and starting at 7.30pm. features three substantial pieces and two acclaimed soloists.
Bradley Creswick, the leader of the Northern Sinfonia, will be the soloist in a performance of the Brahms Violin Concerto.
Rachel Nicholls , widely recognised as one of the leading dramatic sopranos of her generation, will be the soloist in the Immolation Scene, from Wagner’s opera Gotterdammerung.
The second half will be given over to Richard Strauss’s epic work An Alpine Symphony, a multi-faceted work calling for a huge number of players.
