Erewash Borough Council’s ever-popular summer programme of free brass band concerts continues in August with more events lined up.
The events are always busy and with limited seating available, residents are advised to take their own chairs to enjoy the traditional summer sounds of brass.
The free concerts remaining in the series are:
Saturday, August 17, 2pm - Stanley Common, United Church of All Saints, Belper Road: Ilkeston Brass Band
Monday, August 26, 2pm - Erewash Museum, Ilkeston: Bestwood Black Diamonds Band (Bank Holiday)
Cllr Mike Wallis, Erewash Borough Council’s lead member for Culture and Leisure, said: “Our summer of brass has become quite a tradition and hits all the right notes with concert-goers of all ages.
“Take along your chairs and enjoy a picnic with family and friends while listening to the sounds of popular brass bands.”
n Meanwhile, Jonathan Mayor, Susan Murray, Paul Garvey and Steve Harris are the guest performers at Jongleurs comedy club in Nottingham on Friday, August 9 and Saturday, August 10.
Doors open at the stand-up venue, based on Thurland Street, at 6.30 pm and the show gets under way at 8.30pm.
