TOP blues guitarist Eugene ‘Hideaway’ Bridges makes his latest eagerly-awaited appearance at The Flowerpot in Derby on Friday, September 30.
Eugene is a nomadic musician living his life on the road. His home is wherever the next performance takes him, and every year this is from America through Europe, to Australia, with many other stops in between.
After serving in the US Air Force, Eugene followed his musical dream and the rest is history, thanks to a massive worldwide reputation for his great guitar-playing skills and concert showmanship. Blues, soul, jump, funk, gospel, rock and beach music are just a few of styles and influences that make Eugene’s music what it is.
Another old favourite will be returning to the King Street venue on Saturday, October 1, in the shape of Limehouse Lizzy with their tribute to the music and live experience of Phil Lynott and Thin Lizzy.
The blistering live sets from the band are built around the incredible Lynott lookalike and soundalike skills of bassist/vocalist Wayne Ellis and features storming renditions of such Thin Lizzy classics as Jailbreak, Whiskey In The Jar and The Boys Are Back In Town.
Finally, the latest Acoustic Wednesdays event is to be staged in the bar at The Flowerpot on Wednesday, October 5, and features the return of local favourites and Acoustic Wednesdays regulars Woolley and Archer.
Admission to this particular gig is free and it takes place in the bar from 9pm.
Doors open for the other two gigs at 8pm. Admission is £12 for Limehouse Lizzy and £10 for Eugene ‘Hideaway’ Bridges.
