SERVING police officer – and stand up comedian – Alfie Moore brings his new show I Predict A Riot! to the Buxton Festival Fringe on July 22 and 23.
His one-hour show takes listeners on a laughter-filled whistle-stop tour of riots and protests throughout history and tells why he thinks there’s more to come.
His personal experience of living in South Yorkshire during the Miners’ Strike, and involvement in policing the Bradford Race Riots, ideally positions him to explore whether there are lessons we can learn to prevent history repeating itself. Alfie is a serving police sergeant who, in 18 years, has seen it all. He’s been spat on, beaten and stabbed in the line of duty but is still able to see the funny side of policing.
Alfie is currently one of the ten comedians appearing in Show Me The Funny - ITV1’s prime time search for “the next comedy superstar”.
I Predict A Riot! is on in the Barrel Room at the Underground Venues, The Square, Buxton, at 10.30pm. All ticket monies from the show on July 22 will be donated to the PC David Rathband Blue Lamp Foundation, which support members of all
three emergency services criminally injured in the line of duty.
