Derbyshire Rock Choir members will sing and ‘rock it out’ at Derby Theatre on July 21 at 2.30pm and 8pm.
Singing catchy, upbeat tracks with no audition and no requirement to read music, it brings pop, rock and Motown hits to thousands of individuals and communities across the country.
On Saturday, July 21, Rock Choir members from Derby, Ashbourne and Belper will join forces to sing their hearts
out at Derby Theatre.
Rock Choir is a family-led group of choirs with over 50 professional musicians and teachers making up the team. Director and founder Caroline Redman Lusher introduced the unique ‘no audition’ and ‘no requirement to read music’ format in 2005, an innovation that has had such an impact it is now successfully used by other choirs.
Caroline is considered the pioneer of the contemporary choir. She has always believed in her vision of making singing accessible to everyone, and her all-inclusive concept and caring and passionate approach to the members has radically changed their lives.
This approach has also gained a huge amount of support from the media for introducing the Rock Choir ‘phenomenon’ to the UK public.
Members of all ages and from all walks of life (with Derbyshire no exception) now experience the excitement of singing with Rock Choir, which has been described in the national media as a ‘Nationwide Phenomenon’ and was recently the subject of a highly praised three-part documentary The Choir That Rocks on ITV1.
Rock Choir is the contemporary choir for people who love to sing and you can see members from the Derbyshire area sing like they’ve never sung before at Derby Theatre.
