DAVID Wood’s adaptation of Roald Dahl’s much-loved tale The BFG starts its seven-week run at Derby Theatre on Tuesday, November 29.
Late one night, Sophie is snatched from her bed in the orphanage by the BFG, who takes her back to his cave in Giant Country.
The BFG, the Big Friendly Giant, is a dream-blowing giant who blows lovely golden dreams into the bedrooms of sleeping children.
The two soon become the best of friends, feasting together on disgusterous stinking snozzcumbers, washed down with frobscottle and making whizzpoppers together.
But the other giants are not nearly so nice, planning to use the children of England as their next meal, so Sophie and the BFG devise a plan to save them all, with the help of the Queen of England.
The show runs until January 14. Tickets to see this family Christmas treat are £8-£24, available from the box office on 01332 255800.
