Clowning around at leisure centre

The popular Sandow Clowns Slapstick Theatre show can be seen at Belper Leisure Centre on Saturday, September 20. There will be one 80-minute performance, getting under way at 2pm.

Sandow Clowns Slapstick Theatre show is based around the family unit of Tom and Sheila Sandow, along with daughter Nancy. Tom comes from a long-established showbusiness variety family.

The aim is to present fast-paced show for youngsters of all ages, featuring hilarious sketches, clean slapstick, stilt walking, juggling, a comical musical car and more, all designed to entertain audience members.

Children are also invited on to the stage to take part in comic items that are educational, and the playing of music.

Since 2005, the show has toured with an all-profit Covenant agreement to the national charity CLIC Sargent (Cancer and Leukaemia in Childhood), and, after all running costs, has donated £25,000 up to last April.

Tickets are available from 30 minutes prior to the performance, priced £3.50 for adults and children aged three years and over. There is free admission for children of two and under. Call the information line on 0796 993 3236.
