enjoy a fine time at sandra’s show

Live & Local is to welcome actress Sandra Hunt to Crich’s Glebe Field Centre, in her one woman “tour-de-force” show Fast Woman.

In the show, Sandra (pictured) will give her portrayal of Hellé Nice, with musical accompaniment by Fine Time Fontayne.

Hellé Nice was a ‘Fast Woman’ in every sense: in life, in love and in motor-racing.

From humble beginnings in peasant France, she roared through the 1920s; she danced her way to notoriety at the Casino de Paris; posed nude for Parisian photographers; and risked her life many times on the death defying motor racing circuits of Europe and America.

As if this wasn’t enough, she took part in diverse extreme sports such as skiing, performing high wire acts, mountaineering, and attempting speed records.

Her skill and courage brought her success; her brazen media-savvy brought her enemies.

How did such a colourful character, and media darling, come to be accused of being a ‘Nazi collaborator’? Was it a jealous competitor or was there an inkling of truth?

This production is directed by stage and screen actor Fine Time Fontayne and stars Sandra Hunt, well known for her performances in Fanny Cradock - the Life and Loves of a Kitchen Devil and Lady Molly of Scotland Yard.

The performance takes place at the Crich Glebe Field Centre on Saturday, February 1.

Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start.

There is a licensed bar and refreshments available.

Tickets in advance for Fast Woman are adults £9, or aged 12 – 16 £7. You can phone the ticket hotline on 01773 856664 for advance bookings for the show.
