Panto legend Kenneth Alan Taylor begins his last ever pantomime Dame performances this week at Nottingham Playhouse.

See him star as Dame Daisy in the same pantomime with which he began 30 years ago, Jack And the Beanstalk.

It runs at the theatre from November 29-January 18.

With over half-a-century of pantomime at Oldham Coliseum and Nottingham Playhouse ‘behind him’, Kenneth has firmly earned his place in the pantomime history books.

For the last three decades, Kenneth Alan Taylor has been an instrumental part of Nottingham’s cultural heritage. He was artistic director of Nottingham Playhouse for seven years and the person responsible for bringing pantomime to the Playhouse. His annual show has become one of the region’s most beloved winter events, having drawn three generations to witness the magic of pantomime.

Kenneth has been writing pantomimes since 1962 and over this time has perfected the pantomime triple whammy of writing, directing and performing. His work has inspired audiences and pantomime performers alike, and he is seen as one of the most influential pantomime practitioners working in the UK today.

Kenneth said: “30 years ago I could never have imagined that I would still be presenting and appearing in panto at the Playhouse three decades on.

“I know I have said it a few times before, but this is definitely my last appearance as Dame. I feel so fortunate to have been doing something I absolutely love for 30 years, and for that I must thank the audiences who have given me such support and pleasure. “
