Get involved in pantomime fun

Heanor Musical Theatre Company is presenting the pantomime Aladdin in January 2014 – the first one ever that members have performed in their 40-year history.

The company, previously known as Heanor Operatic Society, started rehearsals for Aladdin, that well-known and popular panto, this week at Langley United Reformed Church on Breach Road, starting at 7.30pm.

The company is looking for aspiring actors and singers who want to have lots of fun and entertain local audiences in this fun-packed production.

Kim Harris, the company’s chairman, who has appeared in many of their shows in recent years, said: “We’re looking for performers from 16 upwards who fancy joining us in this fun production. You don’t need to have performed before as we’ll give you lots of help in stagecraft, so it could be a great start to appearing on the local amateur stage.”

“Members decided that they wanted to do something different. In the past we’ve performed former Broadway and West End shows and delighted our audiences for over 40 years. Now we’ve decided to try something which would present us with a new challenge.”

Kim added that the production dates and venue would be announced shortly.
