Lark Rise play is at Highfields

A NATIONAL touring production of an adaptation of Lark Rise To Candleford is coming to Matlock’s Highfields School on Thursday, March 3.

Based on the award-winning BBC television series, it is being performed by the critically-acclaimed New Perspectives Theatre Company.

This captivating version of Laura Thompson’s classic portrait of growing up in rural Oxfordshire in the twilight years of the 19th century has been adapted for the stage by Daniel Buckroyd.

Featuring drama, story-telling and live folk music, this unsentimental yet deeply affectionate picture of life in a forgotten England is faithfully recreated by a cast of unforgettable and much-loved characters.

Tickets are available from the school office at Highfields, Lumsdale on 01629 581888, priced at £8.50 for adults and £6 for students, senior citizens and the unwaged. The performance starts at 7.30pm.
