It’s time for the latest in the series of regular comedy nights at the Queen’s Head in Belper.

This month’s laughter fest, to be held upstairs at the Chesterfield Road-based venue in the town, takes place tonight (Wednesday).

Among those who will be appearing on the bill are Gareth Berliner, Kiruna Stamell, Andrew McBurney, Chris Hammond and your regular MC James Hateley.

As ever with these comedy nights, you can expect gags galore plus something a little out of the ordinary from a comedy club with a flourishing reputation across the Midlands and beyond.

Previous events at the comedy nights have featured everything from cutlery safety experts to professors of man studies and all manner of acts who you might not find appearing in your average club.

James Hateley explained: “It’s not your average comedy night and is best approached with an open mind, but we’ve got quite a few regulars and we like to think there’s something for everyone. “

Gareth Berliner and Kiruna Stamell are doing a double act and have both gained some excellent reviews for their performances.

Gareth has been described as having ‘the warmest stage presence in the business’ while Kiruna has been called ‘fiercely intelligent and hilariously funny.’

Andrew McBurney’s act has been described as a man who ‘lays his emotions bare before an uproarious audience in the hope that it will offer him some salvation’ after splitting up with his girlfriend.

The fun gets under way at 8.30pm and admissionto the gig is £3.
