WEST End star Lee Mead will be performing his latest show at Nottingham’s Royal Concert Hall on Wednesday, February 23.

The winner of BBC TV’s Any Dream Will Do is fresh from his spell in box office hit Wicked and will be performing songs from his West End triumphs and his double-gold debut album.

Likened to a young Michael Ball by the BBC, this tour will be his first time performing outside the West End as a solo artist.

In just three years, Lee has defined the overused expression “a musical journey”. While performing in The Phantom of the Opera, he auditioned for the BBC series Any Dream Will Do to play Joseph. He was selected as one of the top 20 finalists, eventually winning the televised final nine weeks later.

Booking for Joseph was so fast that in July 2007 — when the first three months were sold out — the producers extended the show’s run and Lee’s contract until June 2008.

He returned to the West End in May 2010 to take on the role of Fiyero in the musical Wicked while also pursuing a solo singing career. On his days off from the musical, Lee has been busy recording his second album and now takes his own show on the road.

Tickets, costing £22.50-£27.50, to see Lee Mead in action at the Royal Concert Hall are available from the box office by calling 0115 9895555.
