There is to be a comedy event on Thursday, July 18, to mark the opening of the Matlock Festival, which runs in the town from July 18-21.
Nik Coppin’s Comedy Selection takes place at The Loft, which is the new venue in the Princes Building, Crown Square, Matlock, from 7pm.
Tickets are £5 and can be bought from Little Gem and Black Hippo in the town centre.
Nik Coppin is based in London and has been a stand-up comic for more than 12 years. He has performed all over the world and developed an international cult following during that time, having performed many solo shows at the Edinburgh and Adelaide Fringe Festivals, New Zealand and Melbourne International Comedy Festivals.
His confident, affable and energetic style of comedy is quick to build audience rapport, as he talks about subjects as wide-ranging as observations on human nature, his experiences in The Antipodes, Europe and Asia, his extensive knowledge of wildlife, superheroes, current affairs and his mixed race upbringing in London.
Nik will be bringing along three other comedians who will perform. Confirmed are Larry Dean and Mike Belgrave with another special guest on the night. .
