POPULAR poet Roger McGough brings his latest show – That Awkward Age – to Nottingham Playhouse on Friday, January 20, at 8pm.

The performance showcases McGough’s new collection of poems for adults as he wrestles with mortality, seeks love in the launderette and jives in Macca’s trousers.

He shares the pain of Lord Godiva and Mr Nightingale, considers his Final Poem and shakes a fist at Alzheimer’s. Addresses, elegies, prayers &and ever perceptive playfulness make this a must-not-miss experience.

Roger McGough was honoured with a CBE for services to literature and the Freedom of the City of Liverpool for good behaviour. The beat goes on. There’s poetry in the house and McGough plumbed it in.

Performances are followed by a booksigning.
