Producers have cancelled a touring production of Fame the Musical which was due to visit Chesterfield’s Winding Wheel this autumn.
A spokesman for Bill Kenright Ltd said: “It is with considerable regret that it has become necessary to curtail the current tour of Fame the Musical. Fans of the show have been thrilled by this new production, which has enjoyed a five month run...it simply hasn’t attracted a wide enough audience.”
Fame will be replaced by another Bill Kenwright production called Rock n Roll Heaven which will also be at the Winding Wheel from September 15 to 20.
Those who have booked tickets for FAME will be contacted by the Chesterfield Theatres Box Office to arrange a refund or the opportunity to exchange tickets to the new show.
Chesterfield Theatres apologises for any inconvenience caused to those who were looking forward to FAME, but is happy to receive another Bill Kenwright big-scale touring show in Rock n Roll Heaven...
This new rock ‘n’ roll extravaganza features a non-stop parade of hits from Buddy Holly, Roy Orbison, Elvis Presley, Del Shannon, Ricky Nelso and Eddie Cochran.
Tickets to see Rock n Roll Heaven are on sale now from the Chesterfield Theatres Box Office by calling 01246 345 222 or chesterfieldtheatres.co.uk.
