Britain’s top satirical impressionist Rory Bremner returns to the live stage this summer with his unique brand of comedy and impressions.
The show comes to the Buxton Pavilion Arts Centre on June 22 and will feature a mix of some of his firm favourites, along with his own take on events dominating the news.
The 15-date national live tour, which runs between May and early July, is an opportunity for Rory to combine the voices and satire which have made him a household name with topical stand-up about the coalition government, current affairs and probably sport.
Sharing the stage with Rory will be two of his oldest friends, comedienne Hattie Hayridge and jazz star Ian Shaw.
Hattie is one of Britain’s best female stand-ups and a legend on the comedy circuit for nearly 20 years. Ian Shaw is one of the country’s top Jazz singers, combining his brilliant musical talent with unique humour and energy. The tour reunites Rory and Ian, who first met and performed together as students at Kings College London.
Rory is keen to get back on stage performing, as by his own admission, he doesn’t do enough live shows these days.
He commented: “I’m really looking forward to getting back out on the road again and it will be a pleasure to be working with Ian and Hattie on a variety bill combining satire, stand-up and musical virtuosity.
“On past tours, I’m very conscious that I’ve missed out a few great places along the way, so this show is a chance to apologise properly.”
