Season of French films for Bastille Day

A new season at Derby arts centre Quad celebrates Bastille Day, taking place on July 14, with a selection of contemporary French Cinema during the month.

The season includes six films in a mixture of comedy, romance and drama; Miss And The Doctors, Bright Days Ahead, Camille Claudel 1915, A Perfect Plan, Chinese Puzzle and Under The Rainbow.

To compliment the season, a French film Study Day French For Beginners also takes place in July. The one-day course will concentrate on the main directors, stars and topics featured in the film season. From the provocative Bruno Dumont to the crowd-pleasing Pascal Chaumeil, from les grandes dames Binoche and Ardant to the sexy Monsieur Duris and the art-house darlings Jaoui and Bacri. Join tutor Alan Seaman and see who’s making new waves in the world of French film. French For Beginners: French Film Study Day takes place on Saturday 26th July from 10:30am until 4:30pm, tickets are: £12 or £11 concessions, and the ticket price includes entry to Under The Rainbow on 26th July at 6:15pm.
