Stagefright Comedy Club is back at The Fishpond in Matlock Bath on Wednesday, December 18, featuring a bumper bill of mirthmakers.

Appearing at the venue, based on South Parade, will be Justin Moorhouse, Peter Brush, Jared Shooter, Steve Goodall, plus your regular compere Anthony J Brown.

Described by Jimmy Carr as ‘easily my favourite comedian’, Justin(above right) has a stack of TV credits including playing Young Kenny with the tiger-striped face on Phoenix Nights, 8 Out of 10 Cats, Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, Dave’s One Night Stand, The Grumpy Guides, Shameless and The World Stands Up amongst others, as well as a role in the Ken Loach film Looking For Eric.

His own Radio 4 show Everyone Quite Likes Justin is critically acclaimed and he is a Sony Award-nominated radio presenter in his own right, a staple of Radio 5 Live’s Fighting Talk and 7 Day Sunday. Plus, he’s an Edinburgh Festival favourite with a slew of solo UK theatre tours under his belt.

Peter Brush has a bone dry personality with a collection of wonderfully inventive and instantly quotable quips sown liberally throughout his set. He was a finalist in the Hilarity Bites New Act of the Year competition and has been described as a real standout performer.

Steve Goodall (above left) offers no-nonsense Yorkshire wisdom. His awards include Lawrence Batley Theatre Comedy Cellar Best New Yorkshire Act 2012 and Crooked Smile Award 2013 winner.

Jared Shooter burst onto the comedy circuit in style in September 2012 by becoming runner up in Stagefright Comedy’s Crooked Smile New Act Of The Year Awards in only his second gig at the age of 17.

His energetic persona portrays life as a teenager discovering the adult world for the first time.

Doors open at 7pm and the show starts at 8pm. Admission is £6 in advance or £8 on the door. Call 01629 581 529.
