MADNESS frontman Suggs brings his one-man stage autobiography My Life Story In Words and Music to Buxton Opera House on February 6.
The show hands you an access-all-areas backstage pass to the Madness legend’s mind as he attempts the daredevil stunt of single-handedly unravelling the mysteries of his own life.
“I’ve just turned 50, the kids have left home, and my cat just died.” These were thoughts that struck Suggs as he reached his half-century at the start of the year and decided to reflect on it, with the help of the theatregoing British public. Join him on an emotional rollercoaster through the ups and downs of an astonishing career spanning pop music, radio, television, film … and the pie and mash industry.
With musical accompaniment and pointless interjections from his loyal, pianist-cum-manservant, witness him cannonball to the heights of pop success, stumble and plummet down through the trap door of failure, and then trampoline back up to catch the passing trapeze of showbusiness success.
