Pantomime aboard a moving steam train - a match made in heaven for families looking for a day out with a difference. Enjoy the journey while actors perform Train Ride Through Legendary Countryside, a show which tells how a spell that a fairy cast on the railway was broken in a storyline which mirrors real-life events. 6. Darley Park, Derby
Frozen 2 and The Greatest Showman are the family films being shown on the afternoon of August 28 as part of Hannells Darley Park Weekender. The fun starts on Friday with Classic Ibiza featuring the Urban Soul Orchestra playing chill-out tunes and concludes with the annual Hannells Darley Park Concert headlined by Sinfonia Viva on the evening of Sunday, August 29. 7. Brushfield Park, Linacre Woods, Chesterfeld
Fun, Food and Fluffies on bank holiday Monday, August 30, from 3pm to 6pm will include a dog show featuring six teams of competitors, games, crafts, tombola and cake stall (donations welcome). 8. Chesterfield Canal
Tripboats will run along Chesterfield Canal during the weekend. Board the Madeline at Hollingwood Hub, near Staveley, on Saturday, August 28, at various times from 11am to 3pm or the John Varley II leaving Tapton Lock on Sunday August 29, between 10am and 3.50pm.
